Betting Round 3 – The Turn
The third round begins after the dealer has placed a fourth community card face up on the table. This card is known as the turn or the 4th street.
A hand only consists of five cards but each remaining player now has six cards to form the best possible five card combination from. The best possible hand can be either:
1. Both pocket cards and three of the community cards.
2. One of the pocket cards and all four community cards.
The actions that can be taken are the same as during the second round and just like before the betting round continues until all players have either checked, called or folded. If everyone checks, then the hand moves on to the next betting round. If a player makes a bet or raise that all subsequent players fold to, then the hand ends prematurely and the betting player wins the pot. If all non folding players call a bet or raise, then the hand moves on to the next betting round.
